Established in 2001, Party Poker was the biggest name in online poker for a long time. In fact, they held the top spot for traffic for five years. In 2006, Party Poker made a decision to stop accepting US players due to the recent UIGEA ruling. This was seen as a major slip up from them, but now it can be seen as a pre-emptive strike to reduce any future troubles. Despite the absence of US players, Party Poker continued to hold its own in the traffic rankings, and is currently the 4th largest poker room online, behind Pokerstars, 888 Poker, and iPoker.
One of the major reasons that Party Poker has been able to remain one of the top dogs in the online poker industry is because of their branding. With advertisements plastered all over the internet and TV shows, they are able to consistently attract new players to the site. This, as you can imagine, attracts a lot of recreational players to the tables. This is helped by the fact that they run Party Casino on the same software, and have recently joined up with Bwin poker, which attracts sports bettors to the network. All of this makes for high traffic and juicy games, a winning combination.
With Poker-Business, you can receive a generous sign-up bonus of 100% up to $500. In addition to this, you can earn up to 30% rakeback from Party Poker’s rewards scheme, named Palladium Rewards. Party Poker also runs a host of depositors’ freerolls and new promotions to keep you on your toes.
Party Poker does not offer affiliate rakeback schemes, instead, they have opted for a VIP System that rewards players based on the amount of poker they play. This is the Palladium Rewards system, and with it you can earn up to 30% rakeback by converting your Party Points into bonuses. For every $1 you rake on Party Poker, you are awarded two Party Points, which are used to build your status.
The Palladium Rewards system has four levels, three of these are monthly, Bronze Key (0 points required), Silver Key (400 points required), and Gold Key (1,000 points required). The last VIP level is Palladium Key, which requires you to earn 9,000 Party Points in a quarter. The amount of rakeback you can earn on Party Poker depends on which VIP Key you hold. In addition to this Party Poker run endless promotions including reload bonuses and bad beat jackpots.

After downloading the Party Poker software and registering for a real money account, you can use the promotion code PB1 when making your first deposit and receive a 100% sign-up bonus of up to $500. Once you start playing, your bonus will clear in increments of 10%, and you need to earn 8 Party Points to clear $1 of your bonus. This equates to 25% rakeback, on top of the rewards you get from the Palladium Rewards system.
Don’t think it ends there though, as mentioned, Party Poker practically floods you with new and ongoing promotions, including many reload bonuses and depositor freerolls.

As you would expect from a site with so much traffic, you will never be short of a game on Party Poker. At the time of writing, they have 173 active tables of No Limit Hold’Em cash games running, not to mention their Pot Limit, Fixed Limit, and Omaha games. Due to their massive branding, and the fact they are joined up with Party Casino and Bwin sports betting, the quality of the competition at Party Poker is very low in relation to some of the other big poker rooms. The smaller stakes cash games are full of very loose and passive players, which make it an enormously profitable room to play at.
As with most poker rooms, Party Poker offers a wide range of blind limits at their cash game tables, ranging from $0.01/$0.02 up to $30/$60, although traffic is a bit slower on the highest stakes. Don’t be disheartened by that though, you can find regular action all the way up to $3/$6 limits. Party Poker don’t offer a huge array of poker variations, but all the necessities are there, with No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit Texas Hold’Em, as well as Pot Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo.
Party Poker have also recently joined the ranks of online poker rooms offering fast fold poker, and offer their own variation of this fast paced game called FastForward poker. This allows you to play a huge amount of hands in an hour without having to max out their software’s multi-tabling capabilities.
With soft competition and high traffic, it goes without saying that there is definitely a lot of money up for grabs in Party Poker’s tournaments. Buyins can range from $1 up to their $200,000 Guaranteed Sunday tournament for $200. But you don’t have to wait until Sundays to go big, there is also a $200 daily tournament which offers a $15,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Party Poker also has a range of tournament variations, such as Speed tournaments, Turbo tournaments, Omaha tournaments, Bounty tournaments, and Rebuy tournaments. They also run tournament series, such as the Party Poker Millions.
